**Job Summary:**
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide care and treatment to patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, and surgeries. You will play a vital role in helping patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This position requires a dedication to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on patients’ lives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic interventions designed to address patients’ functional limitations and mobility issues.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modality treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patients’ progress and provide feedback to the Physical Therapist regarding patients’ responses to interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques, home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent further injury.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment sessions, and any changes in patient status in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of physical therapy.
**Qualifications:**
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently manage responsibilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of diverse therapeutic techniques and modalities.
